I'm Jae, a portrait photographer based in Southern California.

I became interested in portrait photography through a simple realization: people often look much better than they think they do. A photograph can show something that's easy to miss in everyday snapshots—the way someone responds to light, an expression, or simply being seen from a different perspective.

That's what keeps me interested in photographing people. No two faces or personalities are quite the same, and I enjoy discovering what makes each person interesting in front of the camera.

My sessions are collaborative. Sometimes we start with a specific idea; sometimes we figure it out together.
